Has anyone used those Space Bags to store their fabric. I have a bunch of those bags and have more fabric than shelves to keep them on. Plus I need to clear out my sewing room to get new flooring soon.

I've not used them for fabric, only storage for comforters.

I guess the ones I had were defective because after a couple of months, they were no longer vacuum packed. :(

i've used them for finished quilts--- the only (down) i can think of using them for your stash----everytime you want a piece of fabric you will have to open a space bag- paw through it= then re-vaccuum to close the bag---seems like alot of work= but i am constantly (pawing through) my fabrics they would be way too much work in my sewing room- maybe you are different?
they work fine for storing textiles in though.

I have used those bags for clothing and comforters. The bags worked very well the first time I used them, however they never worked again. After I opened them they never sealed properly again. I would say they are a one time use product.

I have used those bags when we go on vacation so I can get more in my luggage but now a days, you have to pay if it's over weight! And they don't last for ever, that's for sure.

I have always had trouble with them. They don't stay sealed for long.

I think that they work better for fluffy things, where removing air will make the item compress. Folded fabric has very little 'fluff' so you would not be gaining much space. It would seal the fabric from dust etc., but so would an oversize zip lock bag.
