Hi I am not new to quilting but first time I have been on here. I was wondering if anyone out there has an idea of how to do a diamond in a square? Not sure if that is the proper term. But I am working on doing the quilt pattern"Storm at Sea" and was wondering if there was a simple technique to do the diamond block in the pattern. Thanks for any input.

Hi I was looking for any ideas on doing the diamond block for the storm at sea pattern. Any techniques for this other than cutting out piece by piece with templates?

I'm working on one at the moment in batiks, paper pieced. It's going pretty well. OK - I've done 3 blocks of 25!

square in a square is what the diamond in a square is called. just a square on point.

Storm at sea is one of my favorite patterns. I do use template, but just because I have never tried paper piecing. I have done them in all sizes. It is really quite easy.
