Stuck on one pattern...

Its Flying Geese for me... so many variations! I like your quilts, and if you like making them and doing them in different colors combinations, then keep up that good work. It's up to you.. when you get tired of them, you will find something else.

I've made one Take Five and enjoyed the ease of it. I am stuck on the 9patch. No idea why. Just like the versatility of arranging blocks different ways, changning the blocks size, using up scraps, etc. Working on a pieced double wedding ring right now and it will never, ever, ever happen again! Straight lines for me!

I like your quilts - and they do look entirely different in different colors. I made 2 Take Fives - and both in the same color schemes. One friend saw the first and said "that's what I want" - and since she didn't have a clue of what colors, pattern, etc. to begin with I thought this was an easy solution. Just gave it to her Friday and she was so happy. Wanted to take a picture of her with it, but forgot my camera. Will take it next time I see her.

The only pattern I ever made twice was Disappearing 9 patch... And that was 1 baby and one twin. I like the Take Five.. I have been cutting up scraps into 10" and 5" pieces. Wonder how it would look a little scrappy? Using color families instead of just the 5 fabrics. Well another one on the list to try now.

I don't like to make the same pattern more then once. It takes all the fun out of it for me. I made my granddaughter and myself scrappy quilts from the same pattern and now my daughter wants one. I told her I just don't know if I can do another. It would be like asking an artist to paint the same picture 3 times.

Why does it matter, if the end result is these lovely quilts? Obviously you enjoy what you are doing and practice does make one perfect. Being very new to quilting I try to use a learned pattern more than once. I have made several tote bags and small wall hanging with the same pattern and I am very happy that I did. So do as you please. Thanks for sharing.
