Shouldn't she have asked "are they hand or machine pieced?" I am sure she didn't know what she was talking about because they are no were near being quilted yet.

Some people. I like to refer to myself as a piecer. I have so many tops, they just aren't quilted yet. When I do get to quilting them it will be by machine.

I am a hand quilter...a lousy one. Why? Because I had a quilt machine and I just couldn't do it. Had the Handiquilter and a Juki and I couldn't walk and look and sew all at the same time. Machine quilting takes skill and a lot more concentration.

I laughed and laughed at the "Stoopid" stamp comment.
That is just to right on target.

I don't churn my own butter, but I still consider myself a cook!

if I had to (hand QUILT)my quilts I never would have any done
Same here. After taking 20 yrs. to finish hand quilting one quilt I decided I needed to investigate machine quilting. And I don't think I'll ever do much hand piecing. I enjoy it but guess I'm just in too big a hurry.

Maybe the only clothes that are really clean are if they were washed at the river and beaten on a rock, the only bread that is real is if you made your own yeast and baked it in a brick oven or in the fireplace, the only floors that are clean are those scrubbed on your knees with a brush, etc. How ridiculous.

I wish I had the talent to quilt by hand(but I have arthritis in them and cant) ..even then I would use the sewing machine to do the piecing that you cant see. I do think hand quilting is really beautiful...BUT so is machine quilting.

I also think that machine quilting is very difficult and complex. I can barely do the most fundamental machine quilting and hope to get better at it. My goodness, why cant people appreciate each skill for what it is. I have seen such works of art on here that they almost take my breath away. Pffffffffffffffffft, dont listen to rude, thoughtless, DUMB people.

I think I would have just asked that clerk if she could stand on her head and show what she really was..... :-)

People still amaze me on how dumb and insensitive they can be. I had a woman ask me once if I danced around a fire because I am Native American. I politely told her, "Yes, I do...right in the middle of my kitchen, I have a fire pit there and everything."
