Stupid question about determining backing requirements..

If you are doing it yourself and not putting the quilt on some sort of frame, one can get by with less - I've managed to squeak by with only about an inch extra around. (top was 42 x 60, backing was abour 44 x 62) Not necessarily recommended, but - - - -
