Substitute "Slider" - wha'cha think??

I purchased a couple yds of heavy mil vinyl off of a roll at the local fab shop. I did not place it on top of the actual machine surface, didnt want tape or tape residue on my machine. I covered my table surface only securing it w heavy duty staples on the underside. It was cheap and worked great. No problem w my quilt sliding in transition from machine to the table top since both surfaces are slick.

I cut up an old clear vinyl shower curtain and taped to my sewing machine bed and surrounding table. To me, it works better than the slider I had already purchased. No static problems, just nice & slippery for moving my quilts around.

I think I may have to give the cling wrap a try, just for grins and since I have some in my pantry.

I have both and the vinyl works just as well as the sliders. When I use my vintage machine that is in a cabinet I use the slider, but when I use my other machines I use the vinyl. I have a 4ft table covered with vinyl sitting to my left of machine, so when quilting the quilt and also for piecing it lets the fabric slide, it makes work so much easier.
