Default Suggest Pattern for Twin Grands, Please

As I've announced before, our first grandchildren are due December 1st--twins!! We will find out in two weeks what they are. My hunch is a boy and a girl (we know they are fraternal, not identical, because
two eggs were transferred via IVF). But it could be two of a kind.

The shower for my DDIL is on Sept. 1, and I want to make two crib quilts to give at that time. I'm not a fast quilter, so after we find out the sex of each baby, I will get to customize.

I chose (in my hasty excitement upon hearing the news at Easter) a lamb print, a coordinating pink fabric, a coordinating grey fabric, and may get a white or cream. (I call them my grandlambs.)

I'd love to hear suggestions for patterns that are fairly simple in design since I have to make 2 in short order. I want them to look similar but not identical. My daughter favors modern decor.

While you're at it, take a gander: 2 boys, 2 girls, or 1 of each?

Warm wishes could showcase the sheep. It uses 4 fabrics total, so you could use those to differentiate by gender, if you wish. It’s a zoo could also work; it uses 6 fabrics total. It would be easier to give suggestions if we knew how much of each fabric you have.

There are free patterns for crib quilts for Project Linus. Maybe those will speak to you.

    Zozee, twins- how exciting!!!!!
I don't have any advice as I've never made a baby quilt (yet) but I think one of each would be amazing!! Instant family
    So happy for you!!!

Congratulations Zozee, twins are the best. My Dad was a twin and so was my Mom and so far we have 3 more sets of twins in the family. Sadly none of them are mine although I always wanted a set. If it wasn't so old fashioned I'd say Sunbonnet Sue and Sam but you said your DDIL likes modern. The lamb fabric will be great for boys or girls. I know you will find the perfect pattern and I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Or it could still be identical twins, if one of the eggs had split.
Friends had IVF with two eggs .... guess what? they didn't have twins, but triplets!

    Pattern suggestions ...
a print can show nicely in an Irish chain, with the chain being different for each quilt.
    Here's one that I did ....
In The Pink ......... a Baby Irish!

Would you please post a photo of your fabrics????
... as without a picture, we are all only guessing as to what your fabrics are like
and may be making total irrelevant suggestions.

These are the 3 prints I've chosen. The lamb fabric will be the focus. I bought a matching flannel in that same lamb print for backing.

Thanks for the quick work on the photo!

Suggestion ... for the pink .... choose something that will leave bigger pieces of it in the quilt, so that the words will show! Maybe even for the border?

To me, the grey with the lambs is cute, though IMHO it would be drab, unless you have something with it to punch it up. Perhaps a jewel tone .... royal if boy(s) and a jewel-pink for girl(s). Nothing saying you can't put in that royal for girl(s). Plus could use two different tones of the same colour for the two quilts.

I'm certainly up for suggestions. I haven't cut into any of these.

Congratulations Zozee-how exciting for you. I like the lamb fabric and it is so cute. Great idea for using the lamb fabric for a focus fabric. Maybe just a little lighter pink for one and and possibly a blue for the other. Warm Wishes is a nice pattern to use for a quick quilt and easy too. Good luck and please share with us pictures of what you decide.

Well, I have one decided so far. A snowball quilt with 5 blocks across, 7 down, with probably 14 pinks, 13 blue (lamb print) and 8 grey stars. I’m thinking 9.5” blocks.
