Suggestions for hand pieced portable projects

Throw pillows? You could decide on the size pillow form (s) you wish to cover and precut the components needed to complete the front (s). Could be a pieced quilt front, an embroidered piece, geometric design using sashiko stitching, etc. When my grand daughter was grown I ran across a darling picture she had drawn at around the age of five of a mouse. I embroidered it onto the front piece of my pillow and, underneath printed " mowse" exactly as she had signed it at that young age.

I worked on embroidery projects for both my husband's bypass surgery and Mom's stroke and the physical therapy that followed. Keeping my hands busy helped with the stress and helped pass the time. It is alsoa great conversation starter. I met families from Canada, Spain and Sweden who were in Wisconsin for surgery and we still correspond.

I wish you the best during the wait for his surgery! Prayers are with you! In regards to the question - I find when I'm at the hospital waiting, I grab some of my embroidery. It's all in a carry case, all supplies right there - and sometimes I make yo-yo's, other times I grab a stack of my precut 2 1/2 squares, and hand sew them. I made an entire queen sized top in 3 days by hand - lol - amazing what we can do when we have nothing to interrupt us!

Crazy quilt. I do them when we are traveling on long road trips and while I am watching my teammates play tennis, after my match is done. Each section is different. Beading, embroidery, appliqué and ribbon work. Buttons too. Fun low stressHere's the one I'm working on now. Includes machine work too
