I’m going to hand quilt a Hoffman’s Digital flower
print. It will not be as thoroughly quilted as those
I’ve seen machine quilted.
My question is where to begin?

With all my hand quilting projects, l start at the center and work to the outsides.

I do the same with any hand quilting project. Start in the center and work my way out. I try to do that in 'rounds' when I remember. That is, move out from the center all the way around the center vs starting in the center and working to an edge.

I follow all of the above. I have always been told to start in the center so that, if it gets bumpy you can smooth it out.

I started in the center when I use to hand quilt after I basted the quilt in a starburst pattern.

Machine quilting I still start in the center and go out to the edges to make a cross.
