I am working on my Kids Comfort Quilt and it just doesn't seem to mesh well and need some other opinions bc husbands are useless in this department.

I think the green around the photos classes with my airplane blocks and I don't know whether to scrap the planes and do something else or sash the blocks and re arrange everything.

Should I trim the green and sew on blue fabric to make the blocks blend in?

I have to keep the size at 42x42 max. Blocks will be a finished 7.5" each.

My plan is attached from EQ5.

    Thanks,
    Kristie

Could you maybe put some of the same green in a airplane or two to tie it all in? Or maybe a border with the greens and blues.

I do not have any of that green and it's not a color I could easily find. My picture is not true to color.

The green on the pics is a cooler and more subdued green whereas the planes are bright and warm. I'd change the cool green to a warmer tone. The picture frames could easily be different colors. Good start.

Could you trim the light green from the pictures and then add a border to bring it to right size? The border could then be one of your brighter colors to work with the airplanes.

I love the planes and the photos, but unless there is a special connection between the two, theey'd make two lovely quilts.

Just want to say thank you for taking the time to make a quilt for the child of someone serving our country. No matter what you decide to do the quilt will be very loved and appreciated by the child receiving it.

The boy is 5 years old and the first thing that came to mind was air planes. I have been using scrap pieces to make them and they are turning out great but was challenged by the green around the pictures. I had not taken my pictures out until yesterday after making up several planes and saw the green borders.

I have some really cool airplane fabric I was going to use for the backing but can change the plan if needed.

I personally would loose the green frames and go with the blue that you used for the plane block backgound. The planes and pictures have a lot going on and i think a single color background would unify the whole thing. The pics don't need to be framed as they stand out on their own.

I was kinda afraid to mess with the pictures on my Kid Comfort quilt so I found a fabric at Hobby Lobby for a border. It is that light green with a dark green marbled in it that matched a green in one of the fabrics I used.
