Love all these ideas, I've been taking apart shirts like crazy, now I just have to cut them into strips and squares. How about a log cabin quilt.

I quilted a vintage quilt for a cousin.... she didn't know who had pieced it but it was made from shirts. It was stunning. All the shirts were blue or tan and they looked like they were dress shirts. Anyway, the fabrics were stitched together like keys on a piano with sashing between the rows. The keys were about 2 1/2" or 3" wide (before piecing) and 6" long. The sashing was a contrasting color.

I wish I had a picture...... but don't... sorry. Good luck with your project.

Do you remember how wide the sashing was? Was it like a Coins Quilt? I never thought of doing one that way.

I saw one sometime ago that I am trying to save up the shirts for ( really, I think I have more than enough already). You cut a square with the pocket centered in the center. Sew these on point. cut the rest of the shirts into strips and sew with the flow of the points. I know that did not really make sense, but I have the pic in my head and if I was smart I have downloaded it somewhere. Sigh, here I go a hunting again for something I saved but cannot remember where it is.
