    Default Sun fading colors

I did a search but came up with colors fading in the wash. I have made some wall hangers for the different holidays that I want to put on my front door. I put the Peacock on this summer and all the black is now brown. I get the East Sun all morning. Does anyone have a tip on a spray or something that will stop the fading? I'm betting not, but it doesn't hurt to ask. :-)

No, there is nothing to help that I know of. Some of my reproduction stash just got a few minutes of the morning sun (didn't realize it) so in certain places where the fabric was folded, it is now faded.

There might be a film you can put on the window of your screen door, but nothing I'm aware of that you can put on the fabric itself. Maybe someone else knows of something.

There are quite a few products that can be applied to fabric to prevent fading from UV rays. Here's one - http://www.trek7.com/products/ray-bl...FQNsfgodo3AINg

I don't know how well it works, but it's worth trying. Please let us know if you try it.

I have UV film on my sewing room windows. I chose a "frosted" film for privacy, but I think they have transparent (or nearly transparent) films as well. The room is still very bright, it doesn't seem to really cut down on the visible light.

Ordered Trek7 Ray Bloc UV Fabric Protector. Will post when I try it. :-)

I have film on some of my windows but not on the screen/glass door. It's so hard to put on alone and I don't have anyone to help me. :-(

Full sun or indirect sun can really fade fabric. I have my monthly front door hangers and they fade quite a bit. Putting the film on the glass is probably the best you can do. I didn't bother with sun protections since mine are cute but not masterpieces.

You might want to make your outdoor wall hanging will outdoor fabrics instead of cottons. I made my porch furniture cushions using outdoor fabrics in bright colors and they have not faded yet and they're on the east side too. The cushions I made using oil cloth did fade though and they were on the west side of the house. Only problem with outdoor fabrics is that you can't wash them so I just sweep them off as best I can before I put them into storage for the winter each year. Its been 2 years now since I made them.

Sounds good but they are Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas panels. :-(

When you put the holiday panels up they won't be there as long as your summer panel was. So maybe with the spray and the holiday panels not being up as long, it won't be so bad. Good Luck!
