    Default Sunset colors

My friend has purchased a winter home in Arizona, she likes sunset colors, suggestions please for a table runner or centerpiece pattern and colors that would work well to make for her.

When I was in Arizona the sunsets were beautiful; light golden, pinks and purples on a blue background. Because its for your friend, I would use the friendship star as the pattern with half triangle points around the edge. You could put an applique of a small lizard - southwest good luck

Warm shades of yellow orange browns...I like corals and peach shades...better than bright yellows.

My new pattern that I want to try is Triangle Frenzy table runner. I hear it is easy too.

If you google Arizona sunset and look at images you will see a wide range of colors to choose from. Most of the colors tend to be bright and intense.

Kooklabell is right! Arizona does have the most vibrant and beautiful sunsets. I happen to live in the Phoenix area and have attached a couple of pictures to show what our typical sunsets are like. For colors, it depends on where your friend's winter home is located. Sunsets in the Tucson area have lots of aqua and sapphire hues along with beautiful pinks and coral; Phoenix and northern areas have vibrant reds, orange and pinks. I've attached a couple of pictures that may give you some inspiration.

SW Decoratives has a lot of Southwestern type patterns that could give you ideas. http://www.swdecoratives.com/index.php

This page has some free applique patterns. http://www.freeapplique.com/southwestpatterns.html

J Michelle Watts is another great southwest designer. http://www.jmichellewatts.com/

If you go to Google or Yahoo and search for Southwest quilt patterns, you will get a lot of images to choose from.

Northcott currently has a line of fabrics that are shimmery and in the right colours. I'm using it right now against a black background on a quilt. They are gorgeous. See: http://www.northcott.com/?sid=2&layo...1&colorid=1076
