The trim might be hard to find. I think I should have said a faux suade trim piece that looks leathery.

Does he want pillow cases or PILLOW SHAMS? I suspect the latter - better ask him ... If it's pillow shams, I'd do my own version of this lap quilt "Fancy That!" from Clotilde http://www.clotilde.com/detail.html?...4705&cat_id=13 using Northcott's Stonehenge Stone Chips Charm squares http://www.amazon.com/Stonehenge-Nat..._bxgy_ac_img_b

I think there'd be enough of the same colors already in his environment, plus a few more for just a little (elegant) pop of color, and the design texture of the fabrics would also go well with the other materials in his home.

The request was for a set of pillowcases. I think the leather bed covering has matching pillow shams. The effect of the total room is supposed to be very understated, elegant, masculine and expensive. Just right for a professional bachelor.

Usually bedding comes with pillow cases. So. It might be shams that he is wanting. Or maybe a second set of shams because the first is the same swady like material. Kinda like euro shame pillow case regular sham. If it was me I would get together a couple of fabric choices and present them to him. Your best bet would be for a simple batik with a tonal or two color print or swirl. And I would go with a simple non pattern type pillow if it is a sham. And I would go with the quilting being the pattern on the face of the sham. And a very straight non ruffle type ruffle. Hope this makes since. Maybe with the batik go with an olive-y green fall color type batik. But that is me with how he already decorated. Maybe if you could get a pic of the room or if you see his furniture that would be best. Because this will help you decide which options to present.

I think just a touch of stark white just to add some brightness. Sound like lot of dark materials. Not a lot just a little white.

I guess I'm not very good at explaining this. A friend is wanting me to make a set of pillowcases for the friend to give as a gift to this bachelor. It is to be a surprise gift for Valentine's Day.
