A friend of a friend has a white colored featherweight in excellent condition and asked me if I wanted to buy it for what she paid for it. She didn't want the hassle of posting it on Ebay. I've been hesitant to buy one from Ebay sight unseen and the dealers here are very pricey with the white colored ones when they have them. I pick it up next week. Many of my guild members have a featherweight and they cherish them.

I have the black 221 featherweight. I had two and gave my daughter one. I did purchase one from ebay and had no problems with it. I just love sewing quilt pieces with it. It is so smooth and they lay so nice when done. Enjoy your featherweight and you will love it!!

Hi BellaBoo, I have a 221 Featherweight too. I just love it!

I had to throw out the case though. The sewing machine repair man that checked it out for me said that all of the cases have a mildew odor because of the fabric and glue that they used at the time they were made.

The machine is a gentle giant - works like a horse but purrs like a kitten.

    Lucky you!!!!!

I had to throw out one of the cases I had. But I bought one from Ebay for it. Isn't the original, but same size. It was made for the 221 featherweight.

This featherweight come with a case but I have no idea what kind. I know glue made back then was made from horses so it goes rancid after a decade or two. It's a horrible smell.

I have my grandmother's featherweight. I talked my mom out of it because she doesn't use it. The table is still at my mom's so I need to get that over here too. LOVE having it! Easy to take along.

My LQS has a class coming up on the tuning and maintaing the little thing. I am signing up to take it.

I love my featherweight....I bought it on ebay and the girl said it ran fine....when i got it guess what, she had taken the needle plate off and the wheel had slipped down and she didn't know she had to line it back up. I runs so good and you can't beat the stitch

It is SOOO cool that you have a family Featherweight!! I bought mine on EBay and got a fabulous deal on a great machine.

I took a class when I first bought mine on how to take care of it--best money I ever spent. The Featherweight was made for the owner to be able to maintain her own machine. I hope you enjoy your class and learn a LOT.

I also bought the featherweight manual by Nancy Johnson-Srebro-- http://www.221parts.com/manual.htm

And here is a great blog for Featherweight owners-- http://singerfeatherweight221.blogspot.com/
