    Default Table Runner Hot Pad

I don't know if this is a new tip or not but I thought I would share. While at the fabric store yesterday, the lady cutting my fabric told me that she had a customer buying the heat resistant thermal stuff, that you use for making potholders, to line her table runner instead of batting. That way she has one long potholder for her table! Isn't that a great idea?

So if I use Insul-brite in my table runner, I can set hot things on it and it won't hurt my antique wooden table?

This is a great idea! I have to look for a pattern now, nothing too intricate.

What a great, yet simple tip! Thank you for sharing it! My son and dil finally got a dining room table so now I can make table runners, etc.

Remember that if it would burn the table it would burn the fabric.... I am just saying. Use a little caution. I personally use a metal trivet that has legs on top of mine.
