Table Runners
#1
Hi,
since money is very tight this year, I am making Christmas Table runners as gifts. Need to make about 20 of them.
Started Tuesday and have three stop completed. I am doing a french braid pattern with the middle block having an embroidered Christmas design. My question is, how do I machine quilt these? I have a Bailey 15" long arm,
can I put serveral tops on with spray glue and then quilt them.

I would quilt them on my regular machine, very very easy, I would think putting them on a longarm would be more trouble than its worth. I just finished a Halloween tablerunner yesterday....Because the fabric was the focus, I did a simple loop-d-loop with clear thread, so the quilting would not stand out but the fabric and design....IMHO

Measure out how long of a backing and batting you will need to have enough for them all.
Load your backing fabric as you would for any quilt. Load your batting as with any quilt. Then you can place the table runners on the long arm the best way they will fit and just pin them into place. As you finish the first group you can then roll the 'sandwich' up and then pin on the next group and stitch them.
If you lay then longwise the width of the longarm you may get only one on at a time but I find that is easier to do then to adjust two or more as you roll them.
I just did a table runner and two place mats that way. When fast!
If you have questions send me a pm.
