TBQ - 32 to be quilted UFOs
#22
I made two decisions last month that I'm sticking with for now. I want a long arm and I should be able to buy one by the end of the year. I have a bunch of projects in various stages that need to be moved on. SO, I resolved to work on my UFOs, and hang completed tops with completed backs and binding strips in the closet and wait for the longarm. Then I'll have plenty of practice tops to do! The only exception will be the occasional baby quilt.
So far, so good. I have 2 complete sets in my closet and decided last night which one is next!!

Yes, I've decided I'm a topper, too. I have all these ideas in my head and when I get them made I'm ready to make another. I really need to stop and quilt some. I have started using Leah Day's idea of not dropping the feed dogs & I like that much better so maybe I'll get them done eventually.

Do what makes you happy. We have a quilter in our group that mostly does tops. If we need a give away quilt quickly she gives one of hers and we get it together and quilted. Just keep making those tops. Your family will treasure them.

I must say I'm not quite as prolific as you are, although one year I contributed 4 large totes of quilted items for our church fair, but we could be sisters. I commend you on your generosity, but you might have said they could have someone else quilt them. Just think how your family appreciates what you have done, and how much they want them - it's good for the ego. I must have at least 10 tops to be quilted in a plastic tub, all set to go with the backing, but I hate sandwiching the quilt tops, then I love to quilt them. Need to find a way to "like" that part. Just keep on keeping on girl.

Triplets! I love piecing, quilt if I have to, can't afford to pay someone else. Working on finding someone who will quilt in return for pieced tops. If ya'll find someone PM me and we'll just keep it between us. Hehe.

Did you check around to see if any area quilt shops rent out their long arms?...We have that at one shop here......you take a class and then you can rent it and get your tops all quilted!
One gal came once a week for several weeks and got all her quilts done.
