It was a "quilter's knot" but I can't really tell you why it alludes me - but it just doesn't knot to the fact it stays in the fabric. When I left the class that day, I fell and broke my left wrist (so embarrassing!) so couldn't practice for weeks. Now I have watched YouTube videos galore and find everyone does something different, so I am not so obsessed on getting that knot.

I used to teach classes when I worked at the LQS. I walked around constantly checking on each person and answering questions. There were a couple who were more interested in talking with other and not listening to what I was trying to teach but for the most part, we managed to get the lesson across. I answered questions as they came up.
