You've already made a lasting impression on her.
Just wondering, is she on this board yet?

Not yet, but I promised her I would hook her up to show off her quilt, but her Mom needs to supervise her obviously for safety's sake. Her Mom isn't familiar with this type of forum, so I have to show Mom first before launching her daughter. Would never do with someone else's child what I wouldn't want someone doing with mine.

You are so right!! In the quilting class I teach, I had a woman join who had never sewn a stitch in her life. She didn't even own a machine. She borrowed her daughter's machine to take my class. She didn't think she could do it and I set her up with some practice work for about an hour after explaining some basics and she popped out her own version of the quilt that I use as my avatar. It was beautiful. She was beaming with pride. Her husband bought her a machine for Christmas. It just makes me "pop with joy" seeing people's faces when they master a technique or when they finish their quilt. I make every student pose with their quilt and I take a picture of every one and hang them in the sewing classroom downstairs in my home. So, I can't wait to work with my little 10 year old buddy. She is so creative and has a lot of stick to it tenacity. I have no doubt she will create a masterpiece!!

I think that is so great. I have 2 nieces, they are 10 and 11. One lives here and the other in GA. To bad the one that lives in GA is the one that always wants to sew with her aunt Angie when she comes home to OH. I would love it if she lived here and we could spend some quality time together quilting.

I'm so sorry for you that you don't get the opportunity to share your passion for sewing and quilting with the niece that really wants to do so. That's kind of a bummer for both of you. Hopefully when she visits you can have fun working on a project together!!!

How fun! Madison is about the same age as my girls were when I taught them to quilt. I'm looking forward to seeing her project.

This is going to be wonderful teaching a future quilter - and I love that you're thinking about doing a class for her friends!
