I use Hobbs and love, love, love it! So easy to quilt through on the LA, been told it needles well for handquilting, gives lots of loft to quilting design but never puckers/tucks and so warm and light weight! Wish I could afford it for every single quilt I do. Convinced a friend that I quilted for to give it a try--she's now a "convert".

For trapunto quilting or to give extra loft to quilting, wool is the best. I use Hobbs 100% wool for those and Hobbs 80% cotton and 20% wool for everything else. I still have a roll of Warm and Natural cotton but wow . . .once I tried the cotton wool blend, I'm hooked for life.

I love wool battings! I use Hobbs Wool and Dream Wool. Both are machine washable. I dry my finished wool batting quilt in the dryer, it comes out lofty, fluffy, soft and cozy! I purchase mine packaged, Hobbs from Connecting Threads, Dream from a local shop, so buy the size I need, generally queens and kings. Widths 90" & 120". Other sizes are available. They are my favorite battings! My first whole cloth quilt has dream wool batting, it has been laundered 2-3 times a year ( washer & dryer) for 12+ years now and is still wonderful. Soft, cozy and comes out of the dryer so lofty and * huggable* .
