I have a Husqvarna/Viking Quilt Designer and have had it a while. You will love the way it sews. The 1st time I tried changing the feet was very different from other machines. I don't know if yours is like mine but the feet slip in through the front and does not snap down like other machines. Congratulations!

I have had three Viking sewing machines. A 940, a #1 and Topaz. Love them all. Never had a problem with any - just wanted to upgrade to a fancier model. And have also had two sergers. I do not find the threading any different on my Vikings than other machines. Enjoy - I'm sure you will get many years of enjoyment. You may want to check with a local Viking dealer to get answers and help with your machine.

I have one that I have had for 31 years. Got a new one last year just because I couldn't find a walking foot for the old one. I think they are wonderful machine. I have done everything on my old one except the embrodiery that I now can do one the new one. Enjoy using it with I hope hope good memories.

Any sewing machine you get for nothing is a good one! LOL
It looks like it's begging for you to bring it out to play with. It's been boxed up and put away for too long.
    Enjoy!

My first Viking machine lasted 30 years and I used it ALOT. There were cams in it and I finally wore them out and there were no more repairs that could be done. It still sewed a straight stitch but that was it. So I invested in another Viking....I LOVE THEM and they are a very good machine. Would like to upgrade when my grandkids are a bit older so I can pass this machine down to them.
