Default telling right from wrong side of fabric

Today in the quilting article email it stats right side of fabric is away from you and the bottom is towards you. This I do not understand. What is meant by away and towards?

Sounds like someone was trying to say "right side down, wrong side up".

Just another way to say put 2 pieces of fabric right sides together when you sew them.

As you look at the fabric (fully open, not folded) "away" means it's the side you can't see. They are also calling the "bottom" what we often consider the back(wrong) side.

Towards means the side you can see. so it's saying put the good(right) facing down (you can not see) and the back (wrong) side facing up, so you can see it.

Peicing is very forgiving about wrong/right, up/down, bias/straight grain. Most other sewing is not.

I agree, not the best way to say right sides together but that's what it sounds like.

My interpretation is the fabric is right side down. They made it waaaay more complicated than it had to be.
