Great idea. I have also used them to put into tote bags, purses, etc. - I cover with W&N batting with matching fabric from the lining; if I've used them up I use plastic canvas, it works and gives the bag stability.

That is a great tip. I am now where anytime I am in a dollar store etc. I start thinking what might be here that could be used in sewing/quilting etc. besides what it shows it is for. lol... It's fun too. I love the creativity that we find, and develop on this wonderful board.

I haven't tried this, but I was told that if you dip old xrays into bleach, it removes all images and the bleached xrays can then be used for making quilting templates. If this works, it's a great way to recycle!
