    Question ten inch blocks

I was given (why can't I just say no) about 30 ten inch blocks, all assorted blues. Two of each print. What can I make with these. Of course I can add more blocks. I do have blue in my stash. grin.

You don't need to use them whole. They can be cut into 5-inch charms, 2-1/2 inch squares, half square triangles, strips, etc.

Are they 10 inch pieced blocks or 10 inch squares of fabric? If they are 10 inch pieces of fabric I would look through Jenny Doan's MSQC tutorials using layer cakes.

If they are 10-inch squares of fabric, they are called a layer cake. There are *lots* of patterns for using layer cakes! If they are 10-inch pieced squares, I would probably just choose a sashing and border fabric and put them together.

These are a few quilts you can make with a 10" square of fabrics:

If they're 10 inch squares of fabric, one easy pattern is called "Double Slice" by Missouri Star - makes up quick and looks great. Size is easily adjusted too.

I buy a lot of layer cakes. The squares fit perfectly on most of my Go dies.

Pairing that size blue square with a solid white makes a nice size hourglass block. Various blues and white hourglass blocks would make a lovely quilt.

I'll check the hourglass out. Tried the disappearing hourglass, had a real problem dividing the three cuts evenly, my bad.
