I finally finished my quilt! Or perhaps I should say "our" quilt since I needed so much help with everything from the puzzle pieces to puckered seams to fabric searches. I will always think of this forum when I look at this quilt because I met so many friendly, helpful quilters. Thank you all for your advice and encouragement.

I was asked to post a picture. I made a quilt diary (blog) for my own memories, but if anyone wants to view my attempts, the site is: http://reallynotaquilter.blogspot.com

I must add that I am not a great blogger, so it came in an odd assortment of date order, and the layout isn't what I thought it would be in every post. But as long as I know what is when, no matter. :-)

    Happy quilting, everyone!

although I didn't have a hand in helping I wanted to say that your quilts are very pretty. I like seeing your husband standing there contimplating the quilt! If it wasn't for my husband I would hate to see what my own quilts would look like! I read a post yesterday and the poster said she ran away from home and went fabric shopping, I could NEVER, I would be SO very lost, my husband picks out 99% of the fabric I quilt with! I may pick out a fabric and then he will build from that but for the most part he just goes and picks stuff out after I show him a pattern! He has a good eye for color value and what matches!

Lovely quilts. I'm not sure why you consider yourself "really not a quilter". Looks like you're doing just great to me! Lucky you to have your husband help. My dh is genuinely appreciative when I show him my current project, but he doesn't participate like that. (He does, on occasion, come into my quilting room and sit and talk to me - I love that.)

You are a quilter from all I could see. The quilts are great.

Yep, he is my husband and he loves to try anything creative. (I always say that I am creativity and he is implementation because he can figure out how to accomplish my dreams). A couple of months ago my sister brought me a string of beads made from magazines that she bought in Rwanda, and within minutes of her leaving he was in his workroom trying to create those beads! He did it, too! :-) He doesn't sew, though!! I truly meant what I wrote - if it wasn't for him, I would never make a quilt. Just can't do the puzzle pieces. :( Anyway, I'm encouraging you all to make a blog so you have a diary of your quilts. It makes a journal for those we eventually leave behind.
