I am confused about Walmart ! An employee in fabrics told me on Monday they are getting rid of all fabric [ bought some nice fat quarters $ 1.00 each ]. I had to go back again on Thursday , another employee told me they are not closing the fabric dept . She told me lots of customers are complaining about this . Count me in , too ! Can't afford quilt shop prices since I'm unemployed and can't find a job ! Maybe something soon . Annie

there's many online shops that have similar prices as walmart and better quality fabrics - you might want to consider shopping online.

Its kinda a wait and see thing around here. We don't have any close fab stores, so...we'll see what happens. I do buy alot on line, but sometimes I need to match something exactly...I can't do that on line..I need to hold it in my hand.

I have a 24x36" Fiskars mat. I'm not a fan. Rotary blades dull much more quickly on it than on my smaller Olfa mat. It's several years old, and I'm not sure if anything's changed since then or not.

I shop there for cleaning supplies, their clearance section, and not much else. I dislike them, but there comes a point when things are enough of a bargain that personal preferences will be darned in favor of bank account savings.

Should I splurge for this one or save up for an Olfa 17"??? Comments anyone?
I talked to one of the women that works in our local WalMart (a small one, not a superstore) and asked her about the closing of the fabric depts. She told me that when the store is scheduled for remodeling, the are going to lose their fabric dept. Luckily, this one is not due for remodeling until 2011!!

I don't shop Wal mart often because I don't agree with some of their policies. That's just my opinion. I do stop there once a month because they are the only one in the area that have the bird food my Macaw will eat. Our fabric area closed so fast it happened between one month and the next. They are also doing a remodel by moving all the departments around. It irritates me and I really don't want to go back there. I may have to change the birds food!!!!!

I like the Forest Fun, Backyard Fun and Snow Days fabric Connecting Threads have. They are fun fabrics.

i was just at the site and i like the only thing for my tastes is the hand dyed fabric which is kinda expensive at $36 for 3 yards of fabric.

I was just in walmart last night and all the fabric is GONE!!! i haven't been in there in a while so I don't even know if it was ever on sale or anything. they aeem to be doing a big remodel. I got some FQ's for a buck but there wasn't to many other good things on clearance. There are some fabric stores around here so I am not at to much of a loss I guess. but I did like to look when I waqs there.
