Im looking for a really fine pin. I like the length of a flat flower head but find the shaft too thick. I want a long pin that is fine. I find the finer pins much easier to work with. Anyone have any suggestions?

They are super thin and very sharp. They glide in the fabric.

These pins were recommended by Sally Collins in her video on Precision Piecing. Everyone who has tried them thinks they are the best pins they have ever used.

I have found that the flower head pins from fons and Porter and the ones from Dritz fall apart. The heads come off.

I just bought Harriet Hargrave's Quilter's Academy Vol. 1 book last week. She recommends the Clover Patchwork pins (mentioned above). Although we are told not to sew over pins, she says these extra fine pins are the exception to the rule....just go slow.

I am going to invest in some of these pins and give them a try. I have always used long silk pins but i forget what brand they are. I have had them for years. Rark red glass heads, long and thin but strong and flexable.

no perfect one size fits all the perfect to me is only if it works best on what you are pinning. different pins for different fabrics and uses.
