Thank you everyone. I added the cream triangles and the blue grass border because i had a lot of other fish fabrics that included those colors I was hoping to add them in the next rounds. However I just can't get a look I like. I've decided to save the fish fabrics I have and start over. I will be passing along this center to another board member. We'll have to wait and see how she finishes it. I'll be making the other fish into something else.

I like this idea and it will help tie the fish and the border together. Teh quilting will also help make it a beautiful quilt.

I can imagine some loopy swirly Celtic designs in the 4 cream triangle corners, like a stained-glass leading effect. One possibility is to simply applique it on top. Extending the watery swirl designs out beyond the purple border will give the fish more swimming room, and the quilt will take on an ethereal, no-limits (outside the box) feeling. Play with the ideas first before you commit to stitching.

Its not really ugly - just different. And as anybody knows there is a lot of different quilts out there. As other say, quilting it will make a world of difference. Besides, the purpose of a quilt it to keep warm and cozy and this will be that for someone.
