Default Is there a Tutorial for

Hope everyone is having a wonderful and blessed Christmas. I'm doing an pieced diamond pattern. Is there a tutorial on how to trim the blocks. I think I have an idea on how but I want to be sure before I do it. I did you tube but they only show piecing it.
    Thank you

Don't know, but you sure have made a beautiful start. Please post a picture of the finished quilt, it is going to be awesome.

Is the diamond straight on the cutting board? On one side the side point is at the 15 inches and on the other side the side point is on the 16th inch line. I haven't had a problem with this pattern but one needs to work precise, slow and precise..in that order. I dove into quilting 20 years ago and this star is the first quilt I made. I couldn't make any other pattern but this one and made several before venturing to Bear Paw. I was at a quilt show looking at a Lone Star quilt a girl of 15 had made while staying with an aged neighbor for the winter. It was hand pieced, hand quilted. The woman beside me, quilt police chief, started talking about how no one should make the Lone Star their first quilt and on and on. I finally said to her, "I wish I had known that. I just finished my 5th".

I'm not sure of a tutorial, but in looking at your large diamond, I notice the points aren't coming together. Re: the green "side" points should not overlap, which yours seem to be. That will throw the whole diamond off if they aren't all matching. The next set of diamonds will also be overlaping and so on. Sure is pretty fabric. Will make a lovely Lone Star!

If this is a Lone Star pattern, you might want to check Eleanor Burns website Quilt in a Day to see what helpful hints she has. I remember that you should always keep the bias side of the diamonds on the bottom. I also recommend to do basting first then check that everything lines up before sewing a normal stitch length. This pattern requires a lot of patient. LOVE your colors. I would love to see a picture of which side you decide to be the center!! GOOD LUCK !!!

It's looking good so far. I think Kaye Wood might have a tutorial, but I'd check you tube for tutorials - I'm sure you're bound to find something.
