At our house....it is always "NOT ME" that makes things disappear...You know, you ask the age old question "Has anyone seen my __________?"....All children respond with "NOT ME!!!!" If only I could figure out who this "Not me" creature really is :)

Check the dryer...perhaps the socks have traded places with the goodies.

My furry little kitty (shes a big girl now 6 yrs old) loves to drag things out to her specal place...under the china cabinet. If I have anything come up missing, I check there first and more than likely that's where it is.

Its not so much seam rippers at my house but hem gauges. The black hole lives here also. Not only has it taken seam rippers, hem gauges but has escalated to taking my super slider! Looks like I will be orderinglate another from Leah Day.

I just bought a nice Stanley tool box to round up all the thread that kept running off, and taking the bobbins with it, lol. I got tired of hunting down the pinking shears, which didn't have feet when I bought them, but seem to have grown some. I did it in desperation after looking for the same spool of thread four times.

I have several rippers, two pair of cheater glasses, have now made three pin cushions, (so I can stop getting up and retrieving the ONE I had) and I hide the one good pair of scissors from my dh.

I tape the lid to my seam ripper on the side of my machine with painters tape and keep it put in there when not in use and ALWAYS put it back when I'm done. I started doing this after years of searching for my sr and not being able to find it.

Same problem here. That is why I have so many of everything - one falls in the black hole and another appears like magic :)
