I have 2 cheap containers next to my machines to hold all my "stuff" but then I leave it on ironing board or cutting table! Do I need 4 of each??? lol

I like to think that when I get Heaven, I'll find all those lost things like the seam ripper(s), packs of rotary blades, as such. God can keep the socks and stuff because they probably need mended and I don't mend......I create!!!

Some folks make a fabric caddy that holds all of that stuff and either hang it off the edge of the sewing table or otherwise attach it to their sewing machine. I found it easier to have multiples of each of the items I use for sewing/quilting and have them where I use them. On the cutting table, on the pressing/ironing table, at the sewing machine. They never seem to get lost that way as you are not "leaving" them one place and forgetting them. Also "NOBODY" gets to use any of my scissors. Under threat of instant death! I have lots of other scissors in the kitchen, at my wife's office desk, in the basement, wherever cutting is necessary. Those are the scissors that are used for cutting all that stuff that ruins the sharpness of scissors. When they get to bad I will have them sharpened, or sharpen them myself.

I am with you John - even my Granddaughters know they cannot use the scissors in the sewing room for anything but fabric. What is in that room, stays in that room.

Maybe with an elastic cord, so it can reach wherever you want it to...
That wouldn't work for me. I would accidently let go and stab myself in the neck or lower!!!

Is there perhaps such a thing as being too tidy? If so, it sounds like you are a victim.
