That's the problem - too tidy - out of sight, out of mind.Leave everything out in plain sight!

OMG! I asked my hubby to do the same! I have lost 3 in a short period of time and in spite of "cleaning" and organizing my sewing area, only one reappeared!

Been there and feel the pain. I taped the cap of the seam ripper to the body of the sewing machine and put it back evey time...but that was before menopause hit and now I am wondering what the heck it was I was looking for anyhow!! LOL.

Silly question. Of course we don't send cards to them at the hospital --- we send small embroidered flowers with holes in the middle so they can attach them to thier bodies around the holes made by "Sharp Sewing Implements" and then they can them use them as permanent fixtures.
Some people just have no imagination -- Do they?
Now I am getting as silly as the rest of you. I suppose you tend to get that way when you mix with crazy people. Whoops --

I used to have that issue. Now I have multiples of my most used items and have a tray or drawer from an old sewing machine or basket at each station, on at the cutting table, one on the sewing table, one near my ironing table. It took me a while to get into the habit, but now if I put something down I put it on the tray, in the basket or in the drawer. Now I only have to look 3 places when I can't find something. It works well for me.

I had the same problem yesterday. I have 6 seam rippers and only found one. I swear I have a little green man taking them from me.Just like the socks in the washer.BAD MAN. Not only did he take them he took my (3 of these)60 degree temp. Can't find them either. Go figure that one out.
Plus my sewing room is cleaned up and still haven't found them.

Haven't lost any scissors that I know of in 60+ years of sewing. But seam rippers -- they disappear on a regular basis. Just recently bought 3 more. Maybe that will work for a while. They cost very little compared to my "investment" in my stash.

I keep my seam ripper on the magnetic knife rack that is on my wall behind the sewing machine. It's visible, within easy reach, and doesn't get buried.
