I recently replaced some coffee mugs that had gotten small chip out of them. I kept one and put it on my work table and now have no trouble finding things. Works well.

I'm sure seam rippers have a mind of their own.

My black hole contains a new purse, wallet, untold numbers of seam rippers and a 45 degree angle ruler. I'd love to have the purse/wallet combo show up but am afraid they might have made the trash can or Goodwill donation. The gremlins have the ruler and my missing work socks - I am convinced of that.

Walk away from the room and wait a few min. and go back and you probably will see it. I have found things like that, that were right in front of me. Good luck. Sue

That sounds like fun. I'll bring a cake with me when I'm swallowed by the BH! See you there. ~ Chris

Could be one of my fairies that come in and takes stuff, or probably my husband! I am always looking for something, seems like that takes a fair bit of my time.

I must have a huge black hole in my house cause it's eaten a rotary cutter, 9 inch and 12 inch square ruler and who knows what else.

Have you ever read the delightful children's books titled "The Borrowers?" Little people who live in cracks and crevices, or under the floorboards - who help themselves to anything lying around. Wonder what use they've found for your seam ripper...
