    Default felt for design wall

I purchased some wide off white felt at Joann Fabrics several years ago. I don't remember the price, but it wasn't a lot. I tacked it to the wall behind my sewing machine table and it has held up very well. The only time anything has fallen off is when I was machine quilting a large quilt and it inadvertently brushed against the wall. I have used batting scraps for small size design boards and think it would probably work well on a wall too. I'd compare the price of batting to the felt prices and go with the most economical.

I bought a king size flannel sheet to use on my design "wall". The sheet is a cuddle duds brand from kohls and is thicker than the less expensive flannel sheets out there. It has been a while but I think king size flat sheet sheets are 120". So that may be an option for you.. When things stop sticking to it, I just give it a light spray with quilting basting spray. Makes it sticky and it lasts for quite a long time.
