There are a lot of diffrent thimble styles, material, shapes etc out there you just have to search. You should get answers here or ask at LQS.

I use a leather thimble. Buy the smallest one, soak it in water and then start using it. Mine fits like a glove and I love it! Good luck.

Hi. You can buy moleskin at the pharmacy. Cut a thin strip, pull the adhesive off and line your thimble with it. It will last for a long time and is soft on your finger.

Promise not to laugh---I use colored electrical tape and tape mine on works great. It wears out or gets stretch from taking it on and off after a while, but I just put new on. My fingers are not thin but a medium is too small and a large is too big.

I use a thimble to sew on quilt bindings and find if I get my finger damp, not dripping the thimble stays on until I have to do something else. I have a problem of it not staying on if my fingers get cold.

I have the same problem as you, my fingers are small and the arthritis makes it hard to buy any that fit me properly.Why don't you try and make some leather ones that fit your finger. If you cant ask a friend if they can. They are easy to make.

You're all the way in Australia??? I couldn't possibly bother you for a thimble. The cost of mailing would break the bank. It's very kind of you and I thank you. When at the quilt show in San Diego, I found 2 silicon ones that may work. They were the smallest I could find. I'll try them soon and hope they work. Thanks again for your thoughtfulness. Rose
