Oh yes, we all feel for you, because we've all had that moment when things just fell apart. At least you will be able to fix it in the morning. Get a good night's sleep and wake up refreshed and ready for things to go right.

Now your quilt has a story to pass along with it. I know it's beautiful.

Hope the repair goes smoothly tomorrow. I too stop as soon as I make a mistake, learned the hard way if I try to fix it right away, I somehow make it worse. good luck

I'm not sure this would work on the binding, but I always say "There are no such things as mistakes. Just opportunities for applique!"

I tried to sew the binding to the front of a quilt BEFORE trimming the excess off the quilt and did the same thing. Two places, right at the corners! I was able to sew a small piece on and hide it in the mitered corner. The backing and binding were both black and you really couldn't tell. If I ever do that again, I will be extremely careful. You'll think of a way to hide the "boo-boo"! It's just one of those crazy things we all do!
