OMG, that pattern looks like it would be very difficult......not interested. I don't mind a challenge, but not this one

Ready to begin the quilt, but have one more question...

I notice that some of the "patches" are blank (no color denotation)...what color do I use in them? Is this where the brown background fabrics go? Black? Help!!!

Wish I could help, but my pattern is the wallhanging and the chart doesn't have any blanks. Maybe if you take colored pencils and fill in the marked ones you can tell what's missing?
