Those Harbor Freight Blades Again

You don't have to buy the carpet cutter to get the blades -- just get the replacement cutter blade packages.
I ordered online. Bought many packs to make the shipping cost worthwhile. Have enough blades to last me MANY years! I use them in my 45mm Olfa rotary cutter.

I picked some up at Northern Tool Supply. I understand they are for cutters used by carpet cutters. No wonder they are sharp and hold up better.
I also learned at the quilt show my arm is supposed to be lined up beside my body when I rotary cut, not moved in front of my body. Also, if blade is always held straight up and down it will last longer they say.
I am going to try this as it is supposed to help have less wear & tear on the shoulder. My shoulder is bummed up right now so mostly friends do my cutting. Maybe I can do some of it with these tips.

Only issue I've found with the blades is keeping the protective cover on.
For some reason (doesn't matter which way I flip the blade), the blade fits fine, but the cover when closed doesn't stay closed. Anything next to it can jar it open. I've almost sliced my fingers any number of times when reaching for my cutter and finding the blade 1/2 showing.
Anyone else have this issue?

I looked for them last month when DH was shopping. Shelf was empty. They were with the carpet cutters. My brother is a carpet installer, but does not use a rotary cutter, uses a utility knife. I'll have to ask him about that. LOL

Harbor Freight stores get a limited number of blades. One customer can wipe out one weekly order. If you can, find the order person and ask how many they order, how often they order and when the shipment arrives each week.
My store got a dozen packages at first, but seems to be getting more now. I rarely go there because I cannot use the amount of blades I have on hand. It seems very few people in this area know about the blades. Currently I have 20+ packages of blades I am willing to share.
