These are great. I have had a couple of those comments, too. Use to hurt but not anymore. Those who know me pleased with what comes out of my sewing machine.

IMHO quilters are artists. Some people do not appreciate art.

That's a pity, how somebody can make a remark in a few seconds, and thirty years later it is still with you and influencing you.

She did not have a comeback for me. Still ticks me off almost 30 years later.

I love this story Fay! Although I am very precise, this is what quilting for me is about!

    Have fun quilting!

The local quilt guild refused to let her work on their group quilts, but my uncle loved that quilt that had been lovingly created by his mother just for him. I used my silk thread I use for applique so I could match each color, and I painstakingly repaired each frayed seam. I knew his mother, and she was the sweetest lady with a huge heart. I'm glad her son sees the love, not the flaws.

I would like to apologize as a hand piecer/quilter to you. I am making a machine quilt now. It's the hardest thing in the world to me.
As long as you have fun quilting!

I am sorry Kim. I apologize for all Dutch. As a Dutch quilter I am very well aware of the ignorance on quilting in the Netherlands... The Dutch have been quilting since the 1600's and before, but one way or another, it is something that hasn't spread.
