HI - I have this light on both of my machines and it is on before the machine is on. They are always a good price and good service at quilting warehouse.com. I am amazed that more quilt shops are not using them - can not have anything to do with Grandma's young eyes!!

is this the one you mean? http://www.quilting-warehouse.com/?g...FcO8KgodpxNOsw

i'm wondering why they would sell an additional bracket 'in case the original one breaks'.

Reality is, it's plastic .... be rough with it and yes, it's going to break. More so, the extras are so you can move from machine to machine.

FYI ... I have that one and it's good. However, I find the electric cord a nuisance. I was at my LQS yesterday and they just got a shipment of battery operated ones in. Just as bright and much better, in that there's no power cord to deal with.

A great little gaget for aging eyes! I got a new Bernina 440 QE and it has a wonderful, bright light in the sewing area. It also has a stop/start button for when my knee gets sore from pressing the foot pedal. I think the machine manufacturers are aware that sewers are aging and are putting in more user friendly features. Soon I may get the magnifying glass attachment for close work.

My mom gave me one of these and I was skeptical - finally attached it to my machine and wish I had done it sooner. Who knew how dark it really was under there!

I think the extra mounting kits are so you can move from machine to machine - and I also used the cord keeper clips and ran the cord along the back of my Bernina so it's not in my way.

I use it on my vintage machines. Can't believe how much they help!

When I got mine, it came with two machine "attachers". With my new machine I needed to attach for the third time so used one of the adhesive pads that you can get for those "peel-off- able" Command hooks. Refills are really cheap and its doing a marvelous job!
