Thoughts from Patrice

Thanks, Patrice, for all you do for us. Now that I am beginning to find my way around, I love this new format. I did not know how to do some things on the old format that I have learned to do on the new one. I like the cream background and you've made the font easier to read with the slightly larger size. I think I'll soon learn how to navigate this site well. I get so excited when I learn something new from other member's comments. Thanks!

I'll admit it, I didn't really like the first few days of the 'new look'. I thought it was harder to read and navigate. Today is much better for that respect. I didn't read all the complaints(had my own)', found it a little hard to navigate, but decided that even though I don't always like Change and am not real computer literate, I was going to give the board a while to work out the bugs and give myself a chance to get used to it. I really do appreciate the time and effort of everyone involved-I have no idea the expanse of that. Cheers to you all!!! And here's to a bright and glorious quilting board!

As for white...I guess most forums and news sites I read have white as the background. That complaint I don't understand at all![/QUOTE]
The white board is one of the very legitimate complaints. If it affects you, it is very difficult to look at for more than a couple of minutes. I hope you never have that problem but for the people who do it can mean as much as not coming back on the site.
They have muted it a bit but I think it could go softer as it is still quite stark.
I still think it would be extremely helpful to have a help section, someplace to get directions on how things work. A lot of complaints would have been eliminated if people had a place to get answers.

I will admit when I first looked at the site, I was a little overwhelmed. When you are in your 70s, things don't come as easy and so it's been an adventure - having little short=term memory left has meant I must do the same things over and over to get them drilled into my head. But I'm still here and making progress. The only problem I have is the pic I posted on my blog is horrendously oversized. I guess I will delete it until I can get the size down on my puter. We get spoiled when it is done for us on these various sites. Anyway, I think we shall all live through this and thank you so much Patrice for putting up with us!

Thanks for all your efforts and wonderful words of wisdom. I do not read negative comments, it's not healthy. Change is the best thing in life. It makes us grow and explore. When life gives you obstacles, you can sit in the road and cry or find the solution to make it all better. When ever you meet an obstacle, find your way around it, and with time, the reasons why they came about will reveal themselves.

I wsn't used to the old format the first few times I used it but I kept at it. Apparently just long enough to get comfortable when the new format was introduced. If I can learn something new than I am not dead yet and that is a blessing (LOL). Each day I open the new format I think of a present wrapped in pretty paper and bow. Now to just get it open and see what is inside. Life is an adventure after all.

I just want to say thank you to Patrice and all the others that have worked so very hard in trying to make things better for all of us!!! Yes, none of us like change, we get into our comfort zones and want to stay that way even if things can change for the better. Fact is, it takes time to learn and see ALL the better things! This board is very special and many of us are sooooo hooked on it!!!! So l for one, am grateful to have it and also grateful to all that try to keep it better, and I am determined to learn the changes!!! WOW, I HATE TO THINK WHAT LIFE WOULD BE WITHOUT THIS.....HMMMMM.....

the first day of the "major" change, I got on the board and just looked around. I must admit it took a a while to get adjusted but as a fairly new person on the board, this was not too much different then whn I first discovered the board last spring. It was new and different. It had things I liked and thinks I did not understand.
I decided to wait a few days before going back on the board because I just knew in my heart that many people would take the opportunity to complain and take the discussion off quilts.
Now on Saturday, I am back. I am sorry to see that the complaining is still going on.
This was a good board, this can still be a good board.
Learn your way around and adjust.
It is like life, it does not always meet your every desire but accept the wonderful new benefits here and get on with the subject at hand - aren't we about quilting mostly?
Just my opinion
