There are so many threads out there and everyone and their machine has their own preference. I have a Juki TL98Q and I think it would still stitch with string. It is not the least bit picky. My friend has an expensive Husqvarna and has to be much more careful. As a result, my Juki gets to use her rejects and I've tried a lot of different types of thread. My other friend loves Glide on her big Gammil machine and it is much less expensive than some other top brands so price is not always an good indicator of what is good for your machine.
