This is exactly how my mom, my gramma, my sister and I do it! I usually tie all around the square as far as I can reach before I start rolling it under. I can usually do a good sized quilt working just in the evening, in a week or less. Since I set mine up in the living room, no one can watch TV while I'm doing one. DH made me legs so I don't have to use chairs. Work great!!

When I tie I use a surgons knot, with a curved needle. It works on the dog beds that I have made and you know how they love to dig in the bed..........I cant figure that one out?? They bunch it up in ball and lay down.
