I would use the background color for a border with no color border. I would use the purple for binding.

Or small pink border and wider purple border. Or a flanged border. So many possibilities with this lovely quilt!

How big are the smaller squares? I think a small white border and then a larger color border is perfect. I would make the color border no larger than the smaller square.
