Ever made a quilter's tote bag designed for all of your rulers? I made this in a class a year ago, and I have taken it now to two classes since.

It is not finished at this point but this is the only picture I have on this computer. Binding was left to do here. Pockets in front are wide enough for 6.5" rulers.

    This is the back, finished.

I have made many bags this past year from specially designed tote bags to oilcloth lunch bags.

Aloha Bag for a lifelong friend's birthday last July.

I made this one for another lifelong friend that moved from Austin to Colorado. About 20 years ago she wrote in our reunion yearbook that someday when she is retired she will sit on the front porch of her cabin in the woods and write a book. After learning the technique on embellishing in the class where I made the quilter's tote bag, I applied it to this bag. BTW, the hummingbirds are male and female broadtails which are nesters in her area.

I've made three and would love to make more. They are a lot of fun and a great way to use all those bits of trim, beads, and stuff that have accumulated over time. Plus, you can customize the pockets to your own needs and they are nice and roomy.
