Thread Heaven is fantastic. I used it when I was into seed bead weaving and have found that it works well with my quilting as well. It lasts forever and unlike Beeswax, it doesn't dry out.

I would suggest laying the thread across the top of the box and use one finger to hold the thread on the wax and pull the thread across with the other.

I've used it for embroidery but never thought to use it for hand sewing. When it gets below the top of the box I just push my thumb down further same as if it was at the top. I like to use quilting thread on my MFG hexies.

I love Thread Heaven also. And it is so convenient to carry with my hand sewing.

Thank you for the reminder. I bought this a few years ago but had forgotten about it. You can be sure I'll be using it again.

How have I missed this great sounding product for all of these years? It's on my list to get ASAP!

Used Thread Heaven when I did cross stitch, was amazing stuff especially when using metallic threads & blending filament. Haven't done any cross stitch in a few years but Im loath to throw that wee blue box out!

I was introduced to Thread Haven in the mid 90's by a friend. She gave everyone in our small quilt group one each.
    Luv it!!

One other thought (and don't remember where I learned this)! When you pull the thread from the spool, take it from the spool the same as it is wound onto the spool by the manfacturer. In other words, FOR SPOOLS WHERE THE THREAD IS SIDE-BY-SIDE, put your thumb on the bottom and your finger on the top and then pull. DO NOT pull it off the end of the spool.

FOR SPOOLS WHERE THE THREAD IS CRISS-CROSSED, pull off the end of the spool.
