I'm working on a applique project and will be attempting the blanket stitch some time this weekend. I've tried to do it on other projects before but it never comes out looking right. Are there any tricks to making it look right?

I use pearl cotton, it gives a nice finish.
Keep your stitches even is the most important

One of the girls I sew with uses a tape I think it is called tiger tape its made to keep your quilt stitches even. I haven't used it myself.
