In a post from the Quilting Coach by Penny Halgren She said that you can use waxed paper between two layers of fabric, press and they will stick together for easier sewing and no shifting. If you use freezer paper under the fabric (on top of the feed dogs) it will slide easier for FMQ. After sewing, just pull paper off. Just thought I would pass it along.

Great tips! Definitely going to give the freezer paper on the bottom a try.

Try the freezer paper on a scrap first, if your stitches are longer, the paper doesn't always like to tear away very easily  it does work okay for shorter stitches :D:D:D

Thank you so much for sharing that. Some fabrics just "shift" and it can be discouraging to sew them. Appreciate the information!

I'm just a little confused about sewing on freezer paper?
Isn't it a &^*((%$ to tear off the fabric after it's been sewn?

I do PP and have enough trouble getting that tracing weight paper off my fabric.
    peace

PS I do like the idea of sticking two fabrics together with wax paper. Neat!

if you press wax paper to your fabric you will get a residue---that may or may not wash out- and may or may not change the color/hand of the fabric- i've been using freezer paper in my sewing room for 45 years---i would never allow waxed paper in my sewing room- i let the granddaughter's press leaves between sheets of wax paper- i do not want it any where near my fabrics.
i don't even see how it would work- it does not stick to the fabric like freezer paper does- it sticks to itself..
    just my 2 cents
