    The titanium coated needles are a good choice when you are doing machine applique over fusible web. The the titanium prevents the build up of adhesive from the fusible, thus keeping the needle good & sharp and your sewing more smooth. My titaniums are Schmetz brand and I bought them through the Clotilde catalogue
